Week 3 349 Blog- Hubspot- More Helpful Blog Tips

The blog of a company has to become a true source of education for the consumer. This is why it is important to address one issue in a blog post. If multiple issues/questions are touched on during a blog post, the consumer can become disinterested, overwhelmed by too much information, and in turn leave the blog post altogether. It is also important to still consider search engine optimization while still putting the buyer persona first in terms of importance to your blog. This is critical because while it is still important to have great content in the blog, no one will be able to see that content if your search engine optimization is poor and the consumer can't find the link to your blog.

The title of your blogs should have good keywords in order for them to appear in search engines. Also there should be a meta description of the blog as well, which should be as short as a twitter post. Links also add increased value to your blog post, because it is a chance to share different sources of where you get your information, and it allows for the consumer to be interactive with the blog, which will increase activity of the consumer coming back to the site. A final and extremely important consideration about blogging deals with mobile optimization. Mobile optimization is important because of the frequency that people view internet content on their phones. People are on smartphones much more than their home or office computers, due to the convenience of them. This has become so important that major search engines such as Google have begun rejecting blogs and websites that aren't optimized enough to show up on mobile devices.
An example of a popular website converting to a mobile adaptation can be seen below:

Week 3 Marketing 348 Blog-Hubspot- Effective Blogging

Blogging has become an increasingly big part of companies in recent markets. Blogging can be used to attract different customers to the company. One common misstep that can happen when blogging, is that people have a tendency to blog to cater to the search engine optimization for the company, instead of blogging to help the interests of the potential buyer. Keeping the buyer persona is critical to effective blogging, they are considered the target market when you are blogging. They are the people who are most likely going to visit the blog and then become customers.

Blogging is a great way to get to customers that are in the awareness stage of the buyer's process. A blog can help raise awareness of what a company is all about and can serve is a starting point for many customers. It is important to consider what types of questions a customer is going to ask when approaching a company's website, and then answer those questions in the blog. This can help establish credibility with a customer over a long period of time, which can lead to a substantial amount of business in the future. The basic layout for the customer's process can be seen below:

Week 2 blog Marketing 349 - Google Adwords

Google Adwords can allow for a business that is listed on Google to become extremely profitable. Google Adwords can deliver customers to a website that are looking for exactly what a certain company has to offer. The more specific the better, because customers that know exactly what they want are going to appreciate an add that is extremely specific.

It is difficult however on occasion to figure out how to sell a customer in just the four lines that are allowed on the Adwords advertisements. The advertisements need to have concise and practical headlines, and also need to have good descriptions that will defer a customer away from potential competitors. The descriptions in my opinion should always indicate deals that are associated with the product.

Example of Adword

week 2 marketing 348 blog- Google Panda

Google Panda is a great new innovation to the search engine. Nobody likes it when they are trying to find something on Google for an important purpose and a low-grade website pops up at the top of the list of results. Google Panda is a way to prevent this from happening, which allows Google to be much more consumer friendly. Google Panda has allowed for the right site to reach consumers, rather than just any site that contains content somewhat relevant to the search key words.

Google Panda has helped significantly with copyright infringement issues and with sites that try to steal content from credible sites, and pass it off as their own. Google Panda prevents harmful sites from deceiving consumers, and in turn taking traffic away from real credible sources. A medical laboratory in San Antonio Texas had about 70% of its traffic restored to its site that it had lost before Panda was installed. This can be seen below:

Week 1 Blog- Mktg 349 Google Adwords Intro

Google AdWords is an incredibly valuable tool to have in the digital age that we are currently living in. AdWords allows you to pick keywords that customers might choose to search into Google, and then depending on how much your company spends, and your relevance to the search criteria, your company's website might be high or low on the search results. Google is extremely well-known and used throughout the world, so this venture is more than worth your while to pursue.

There are different ways in which a company can use the AdWords function. One way a company might choose to use it is to strictly raise awareness and raise traffic on the website itself. The key aspect in being successful in this regard is by concentrating on the number of clicks and clickthrough rate. To be successful in raising awareness about a company, the company has to make sure that it tightens its keyword list down to a list of extremely concise and closely themed keywords in order for to achieve the greatest customer satisfaction, considering people want to see things that are extremely relevant to what they are searching. AdWords can also be used to increase sales and conversions for a company. To achieve success in this area a company must be able to monitor closely a customer's keyword search, clicks on the website, and actual conversions while on the website. This is an effective way to monitor actual customer activity on the website, and to see what actions are actually effective, and which ones are merely random website clicks. Meaningful activity is what is going to increase a company's sales. This strategy would be primarily used by companies that are more established in the market, and don't really need to focus as much on strictly raising awareness. This strategy could prove to pay off handsomely for the company.

Week 1 Marketing 348 Blog

The presentation we viewed in class was extremely informative to our class. Inbound is a new method of marketing that has evolved with the modern marketplace along with the technological advances that have happened. I really liked the movement away from the cold-calling aspect of marketing. I liked the comparison of the old marketing techniques to how our parents used to tell us not to interrupt people when they were speaking. The inbound concept moves away from jamming a product down somebody's throat.

Inbound takes more of a strategy of attracting the customer to the company, more than attacking the customer with a product. Inbound also gives more effective clicks that are online, that actually take customers to the websites they wish to visit. Inbound takes the approach of establishing trust with a customer rather than just trying to suck them in with an advertisement. A great statistic from the inbound video was that 80% of business decision-makers prefer to make their decisions associated with articles rather than based on an advertisement. This makes the notion that business owners don't always trust the company talking about themselves, but other people's opinions of them more. Inbound aims to have the customers have more trust in the companies.
