Week 10- Mktg 349 Marketing for National Tiger Sanctuary

Using Google Adwords to market the National Tiger Sanctuary has been great practice so far in using the program. It also helps to raise awareness for an extremely good cause. The specific tiger I have chosen to market is a tiger by the name of Toby. Toby's individual bio page is the landing page for my ad. This works out well because if someone is searching for tigers or endangered tigers, my ad will be one of the ads that pops up. This allows for people to find a landing page that is exactly relevant to what they are searching for, which makes them keep coming back.

The keyword development for this campaign will be pretty constant. My keywords will frequently have to be updated in order to predict new searches by users. My keyword switching will keep my ad near the top of the search results, which will result in more traffic for Toby and the Tiger Sanctuary.

Week 10-Mktg 348- LinkedIn Importance

LinkedIn has become an extremely powerful tool in the business world. LinkedIn serves as a professional social media site, that makes job applications instant as well as connections with powerful contacts. Therefore, any projects that you have completed that are relevant to what you want to go into you should definitely put them on LinkedIn so a potentially job recruiter can see them. This is true for all projects.

A great thing to put on your LinkedIn profile would be your blog. Your business blog can show a recruiter that you know what you are talking about and that you can go in depth about different areas of the field that you choose to go into. A blog and other great LinkedIn content can set you apart from everyone else on a company's radar and can potentially lead to job opportunities.

Week 9-Mktg 348- Customer Delight

Customer delight is a crucial aspect of the marketing and selling process. Customer delight, contrary to popular belief is not only a post sale activity, but a pre sale one as well. Making the customer happy is the most important thing in the marketing process, because if the customer isn't happy, then business will greatly suffer. If the customer isn't happy, then he or she won't decide to purchase anything from your company, and will be less likely to even visit your website.

The three pillars of customer delight are innovation, communication, and education. Innovation offers a different aspect in the marketing than the normal status quo. Innovation offers the customer a reason that your product is a better product than other on the market. Communication offers the customer a sense of security. The more communication that you have with the customer the better, you can allow for more reassurance that way. Education allows for the customer to grow their knowledge about the product, industry, and your company as a whole, and will allow them to make better informed decisions.

Week 9- Mktg 349-Google Adwords Grants

Google grants are different campaigns used for non profit organizations. This is a very great product for both the world and Google. It is obviously a great thing for non profit organizations because Google is one of the biggest companies in the entire world, and the exposure on the internet that these organizations can get online from Google are second to none. It is also a positive thing for Google as well because it is always good for a corporation to be associated with non profit companies and with charity organizations. These organizations will make Google a more humanitarian company and they will cause Google to gain more respect and customer approval.

The Tiger sanctuary is a great non profit organization that will allow for us to get great practice with the Adword Grants accounts and it is contributing for a great cause. This project will offer a lot of us in the class real world experience that most of us desperately need, and we will be able to contribute to helping save Tigers, who are greatly endangered around the world.

Week 8 Mktg 349- Google Adwords follow-up

The Google Adwords campaign that I set up for this blog was pretty successful, and I would definitely recommend the process to anyone trying to get a website or any other type of online media out into the market. My campaign ran for only a short time and generated over $50 worth of activity. After using up $25 dollars on Google Adwords, you will be able to obtain $100 free from Google towards a campaign in the future via a coupon.

This $100 courtesy of Google is nothing to be trivial about, it can make for the start of a great campaign, and can be just the kick start your website and company need. With the right use of optimization and the right amount of effort from the marketer, the campaign has a great shot of succeeding.

Week 8- Mktg 348- SEO Blogging and Content

Content in blogging is something that is extremely important, as it is in other forms of media marketing on the internet. The content for blogging is more effective if it is simple. Simple and concise blog content is vital in order to keep the readers on task, and for them to be able to understand what you are writing about. A blogger has to maintain variations in order to make sure that the reader lose interest in the blog, but the blog should have an overlaying theme that can be associated with it.

Another aspect of blogging that is easy for most bloggers to forget about is to update the content of their blog. It is important to not only publish new blog posts regularly on a blog, but to maintain content that is as up to date as it possibly can be. Any web surfer will quickly lose interest if the blog content gains a reputation for being out of date. This could be a crushing blow to your blog if this happens, and will cause you to gain a bad reputation in the online world.

Week 8-Mktg 348- SEO and Content Duplication

Content duplication is a huge problem on the internet today and is one of those things that can cripple your creditability with the internet users. Internet surfers need to know that what website they decide to visit is the right website. This is one of the reasons why SEO optimization is so important. Google is extremely strict about how they decide who gets to the top of their search pages, and they are extremely concerned with not letting phony and duplicate websites get to that position.

By effectively optimizing your website, you will be able to rise higher and higher up the search results of Google and will be able to in turn establish more creditability. This creditability will lead to more users trafficking to your site, and in will in turn keep your website at the top of the food chain so to speak. SEO optimization can quickly turn into a well established reputation.

Week 7-Mktg 349 Social Media Importance

A social media presence is extremely important toward successful online marketing. This is especially true for LinkedIN. The effective use of LinkedIN is extremely useful when trying to promote other things on the internet. a blog link to LinkedIN for example is extremely useful. An effective blog can both be boosted by your LinkedIN profile as well as giving your LinkedIN profile more creditability. This is a mutually beneficial relationship that can be used to great benefit.

A social media presence can also give you a great leg up with interviewers of potential jobs. Social media is basically present in every aspect of life nowadays. Effective presence on social media other parts on the internet is extremely valuable and a necessity for success in the current industry.

Week 7 Mktg 348- Hubspot Smarketing

Smarketing is an inbound concept that is essential for young entrepreneurs. Smarketing is the concept of combining sales and marketing to an inbound framework. It is critical that sales also takes the initiative to move to an inbound approach, especially once the marketing approach has moved to the inbound strategy. Marketing and sales need to be on the same page because they are often very closely related, and if one is not on the same page with the other, then the entire plan can crumble.

Sales and marketing have to both be inbound strategies. If sales doesn't move to a strategy that doesn't involve interrupting people and instead uses a traditional marketing strategy, then the entire campaign will fail even if the marketing has an inbound strategy. Marketing and sales are closely related and definitely need to feed off of one another.

Week 7-Mktg 348- SEO Visitor Traffic Analysis

SEO traffic analysis is a key aspect of determining how well an advertisement and in turn how well your website is doing. The number of people that visit your website depends on how well you optimize your website, and if you do so well, the results will be very worthwhile. Traffic Analysis involves the documenting of how keyword searching has translated to traffic on your website. This is crucial to knowing how well your keywords are resonating with your customers.

Key words are the key to attracting a target market that you are more likely to see profit from than just some random person on the internet that just happens to be browsing around. It is also important to analyze the rate of conversion from the keywords as well. This is essential because it allows you to see which keyword searches have given the consumer a call to action.

Week 6-Mktg 348- SEO Optimization Pay Per Click

Pay per click campaigns are essential to SEO optimization, and in a sense are the basic starting points for the entire process. The process involves bidding on amounts for each click that happens online. The more you bid, the higher your advertisement is run on the search engine, and therefore the more traffic it will get from the consumer. This process involves the selection of different keywords that you think the consumer is going to search on the search engine.

The two search engines that allow major PPC campaigns are Google and Yahoo. Both of these search engines have recognized the importance of running ad campaigns like this, and how profitable they can potentially be. If you want the best possible web browsing activity to your website, PPC ads are the best way to go.

Week 6- Mktg 348- Hubspot and LinkedIn Use

Hubspot makes a big point in the use of social media when marketing toward potential customers. Marketing in the modern era almost requires the use of social media. Social media gives us a platform to reach people every where in seconds in a place that people and businesses frequently visit. LinkedIn is especially important because of the fact that it is all business connections.

Connecting through LinkedIn is extremely important in the business world. If you can get customers to go on your company's LinkedIn page, then your company will instantly become more credible in the eyes of the customer. This is also true for running ads on LinkedIn. LinkedIn ads are considered more favorable than regular ads online. LinkedIn advertisements are seen by more professionals than on other social media sites, therefore they can attract a more serious following.

Week 6- MKTG 349 Blog- Google Adwords Experience

My Google Adwords experience has been going great so far. I decided to run an advertisement about this blog in order to get my name out on the internet, and also because it is a good idea because of the fact that it's easier to start an advertisement campaign on a small blog, in order to get a hang of the process. my campaign generated a substantial amount of clicks and was actually well taken in by the internet.

My Adwords account was also originally not just included with advertising strictly with keywords. My Adwords account was also used as a display ad on the internet. This is a more complex Adwords account due to the fact that people didn't have to search keywords necessarily to see the ad, it was displyed on certain occasions. Adwords overall was a success, and I would recommend it to anyone trying to market online. My Adwords account got 152 clicks in a little under a month's time. This is decent for a first Adwords campaign account that is linked to a blog. I was happy with the success of the campaign.

Week 5-Mktg 349 Blog-Google Adwords Account

My Google Adwords account is set up to advertise for this marketing blog. So far the experience has been interesting to say the least. On my first attempt to create a campaign i tried to market my LinkedIn account originally but Google would not allow me to. I came to the conclusion that their reasoning behind this would be because of the fact that everyone would try this and Google could be over run by linked in accounts of people trying to get their name out there. This could potentially take over Google, which would cause people to not use Google anymore.

I feel that my Adwords account could be a potentially great thing in terms of helping to get my name out there based on my blog content. If potential employers are to see my blog and respond well to it, I feel that it could help my career in the future. I would encourage everyone to use a Google Adwords account for something.

Week 5- Mktg 348 Hubspot

Hubspot offers help with creating remarkable content as well. Hubspot talks about how you should create remarkable content. Hubspot makes the important point of saying that talking about the product and your organization is not necessarily the best way to go when trying to create remarkable content. that type of content can attract some customers, but not as many as your should attract. Your content should deal with customer solutions to problems that they have. Nothing can be more frustrating than searching the internet for a solution to a problem that you're having than having to read through a bunch of useless content before finding the answer to the problem you're looking for.

As I have stated over and over buyer personas are crucial to helping creating remarkable content. Buyer personas are basically the same thing as a profile of the target market, which you would hear in many traditional marketing circles. You have to take into account the buyer and where they are in their journey, because you have to know if they are experienced in the market and will need to know more about the endgame of purchasing a product, or if they are new to the market and will need to be coached through their first purchases.

Week 5 Mktg 348 SEO blog- Having Great Content

When blogging about SEO, you have to have content that is flawless, so to speak. There are many blogs on the internet that will claim many different things about SEO, but may or may not be giving good advice. Your SEO blog has to have concrete facts from credible sources about SEO. SEO information is thrown around on the internet, which discourages internet users from believing everything they read on the internet. As a blogger you have to establish a better standard for your content, which will in turn allow the web user to trust your blogs content more than the rest.

The content of your blog has to differ from the competition. It is one thing to differ the commercial aspects of the advertisement for your blog, but the actual content has to be different as well. The differences that set your blog apart from what other blogs put out are what is going to drive people to your blog over the others. This is the key to survival in the modern age of technology.

Week 4-349 SEO

There are very serious issues that must be considered when using search engine optimization. One major issue has to do with duplicate content. This is a serious problem because of the fact that a site with duplicate content can take away from your sites hits on a search engine. A consumer is not going to know which website to trust, especially if the consumer is not necessarily familiar with the field they are choosing to research. Duplicate content can be a huge problem to website traffic.

As the owner of the website you have to see what the problem that causes the identification on your site to be confused with other ones of the same content. You have to be proactive with your designer in figuring out how you can set up you site to where the domain search and keywords will separate your website from the others on the search engine.

Week 4-348 Hubspot Post

Social Media is extremely important to consider that you can really help amplify your content and raise awareness about your content through social media. The buyers journey is essential to consider during this process. The buyers journey involves having awareness, consideration, and then decision. It is particularly important to include the consideration stage in order to address the problem that the consumer clearly knows that he or she has. Consumers want to see a d irect answer to their problems which is a great thing to put on a social media site such as LinkedIn or Facebook.

The decision stage can also be swayed by social media in a variety of ways. One way is by posting links to case studies on social media sites for customer reassurance. This allows for the most information possible to reach the user, which not only solves their problem when they visit your site the first time, but encourages them to come back to the site in the future. With all of this combined with catering to buyer personas, social media can be very powerful.

Week 4- 348 SEO Post

Another important aspect of SEO for your website is to make sure you're definitely up to date with your indexing status. It is important to know how many results your site gets on a regular basis, because that way you will know if you have a problem with your Adwords strategy and work on improving it. The first step in doing so is to make a prediction on a piece of paper of how many results that you think will come up in the google search. The second step is actually searching the site in google in the following format: Site:websitename. You should then compare the results to your prediction, and this will help you realize how in touch with your SEO success you are.

Using a website crawler is also a must when using SEO. This gets rid of the 404 website errors (page not found) that come up when someone tries to access a web site that isn't real. If there are too many 404 errors, then Google will think that your website is of poor quality. The best crawler option is called Screaming Frog.

Week 3 Mktg 348- SEO Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a vital part of search engine optimization for a company. Google Analytics essentially allows the user to figure out whether or not their website is getting traffic on Google, and how people are getting to the website. Google Analytics allows for a company to see how much organic traffic their website got vs how much referral traffic the website obtained. When used correctly this can be a very powerful tool. Google Analytics will provide feedback that allows the user to know where to adjust keywords and descriptions accordingly in order to get more views and activity on the company website.

Google Webmaster Tools provide users with in-depth progress reports about the recent activity on the website. This feature gives crawl reports, rankings data, the most common keywords on your site, and many more. Google Webmaster allows the user to get important information right at his or her fingertips rather than have to have an analyst monitor activity. This information can allow for the user to cater Adwords campaigns according to the data. Also, by learning more about consumer preferences, they can design online marketing campaigns that are extremely more effective.

Week 3 349 Blog- Hubspot- More Helpful Blog Tips

The blog of a company has to become a true source of education for the consumer. This is why it is important to address one issue in a blog post. If multiple issues/questions are touched on during a blog post, the consumer can become disinterested, overwhelmed by too much information, and in turn leave the blog post altogether. It is also important to still consider search engine optimization while still putting the buyer persona first in terms of importance to your blog. This is critical because while it is still important to have great content in the blog, no one will be able to see that content if your search engine optimization is poor and the consumer can't find the link to your blog.

The title of your blogs should have good keywords in order for them to appear in search engines. Also there should be a meta description of the blog as well, which should be as short as a twitter post. Links also add increased value to your blog post, because it is a chance to share different sources of where you get your information, and it allows for the consumer to be interactive with the blog, which will increase activity of the consumer coming back to the site. A final and extremely important consideration about blogging deals with mobile optimization. Mobile optimization is important because of the frequency that people view internet content on their phones. People are on smartphones much more than their home or office computers, due to the convenience of them. This has become so important that major search engines such as Google have begun rejecting blogs and websites that aren't optimized enough to show up on mobile devices.
An example of a popular website converting to a mobile adaptation can be seen below:

Week 3 Marketing 348 Blog-Hubspot- Effective Blogging

Blogging has become an increasingly big part of companies in recent markets. Blogging can be used to attract different customers to the company. One common misstep that can happen when blogging, is that people have a tendency to blog to cater to the search engine optimization for the company, instead of blogging to help the interests of the potential buyer. Keeping the buyer persona is critical to effective blogging, they are considered the target market when you are blogging. They are the people who are most likely going to visit the blog and then become customers.

Blogging is a great way to get to customers that are in the awareness stage of the buyer's process. A blog can help raise awareness of what a company is all about and can serve is a starting point for many customers. It is important to consider what types of questions a customer is going to ask when approaching a company's website, and then answer those questions in the blog. This can help establish credibility with a customer over a long period of time, which can lead to a substantial amount of business in the future. The basic layout for the customer's process can be seen below:

Week 2 blog Marketing 349 - Google Adwords

Google Adwords can allow for a business that is listed on Google to become extremely profitable. Google Adwords can deliver customers to a website that are looking for exactly what a certain company has to offer. The more specific the better, because customers that know exactly what they want are going to appreciate an add that is extremely specific.

It is difficult however on occasion to figure out how to sell a customer in just the four lines that are allowed on the Adwords advertisements. The advertisements need to have concise and practical headlines, and also need to have good descriptions that will defer a customer away from potential competitors. The descriptions in my opinion should always indicate deals that are associated with the product.

Example of Adword

week 2 marketing 348 blog- Google Panda

Google Panda is a great new innovation to the search engine. Nobody likes it when they are trying to find something on Google for an important purpose and a low-grade website pops up at the top of the list of results. Google Panda is a way to prevent this from happening, which allows Google to be much more consumer friendly. Google Panda has allowed for the right site to reach consumers, rather than just any site that contains content somewhat relevant to the search key words.

Google Panda has helped significantly with copyright infringement issues and with sites that try to steal content from credible sites, and pass it off as their own. Google Panda prevents harmful sites from deceiving consumers, and in turn taking traffic away from real credible sources. A medical laboratory in San Antonio Texas had about 70% of its traffic restored to its site that it had lost before Panda was installed. This can be seen below:

Week 1 Blog- Mktg 349 Google Adwords Intro

Google AdWords is an incredibly valuable tool to have in the digital age that we are currently living in. AdWords allows you to pick keywords that customers might choose to search into Google, and then depending on how much your company spends, and your relevance to the search criteria, your company's website might be high or low on the search results. Google is extremely well-known and used throughout the world, so this venture is more than worth your while to pursue.

There are different ways in which a company can use the AdWords function. One way a company might choose to use it is to strictly raise awareness and raise traffic on the website itself. The key aspect in being successful in this regard is by concentrating on the number of clicks and clickthrough rate. To be successful in raising awareness about a company, the company has to make sure that it tightens its keyword list down to a list of extremely concise and closely themed keywords in order for to achieve the greatest customer satisfaction, considering people want to see things that are extremely relevant to what they are searching. AdWords can also be used to increase sales and conversions for a company. To achieve success in this area a company must be able to monitor closely a customer's keyword search, clicks on the website, and actual conversions while on the website. This is an effective way to monitor actual customer activity on the website, and to see what actions are actually effective, and which ones are merely random website clicks. Meaningful activity is what is going to increase a company's sales. This strategy would be primarily used by companies that are more established in the market, and don't really need to focus as much on strictly raising awareness. This strategy could prove to pay off handsomely for the company.

Week 1 Marketing 348 Blog

The presentation we viewed in class was extremely informative to our class. Inbound is a new method of marketing that has evolved with the modern marketplace along with the technological advances that have happened. I really liked the movement away from the cold-calling aspect of marketing. I liked the comparison of the old marketing techniques to how our parents used to tell us not to interrupt people when they were speaking. The inbound concept moves away from jamming a product down somebody's throat.

Inbound takes more of a strategy of attracting the customer to the company, more than attacking the customer with a product. Inbound also gives more effective clicks that are online, that actually take customers to the websites they wish to visit. Inbound takes the approach of establishing trust with a customer rather than just trying to suck them in with an advertisement. A great statistic from the inbound video was that 80% of business decision-makers prefer to make their decisions associated with articles rather than based on an advertisement. This makes the notion that business owners don't always trust the company talking about themselves, but other people's opinions of them more. Inbound aims to have the customers have more trust in the companies.
